Hourly service means the car and the driver are yours for a block of time rather than for a single trip. You are not booking a pickup and a drop-off. You are booking a day, or a part of one, and the vehicle stays with you between stops.
BlackLuxe Ride runs hourly and as-directed service across Houston in full-size executive SUVs, with the same chauffeur for the whole booking.
What as-directed actually changes. The difference is not luxury, it is control of the schedule. With a point-to-point booking, every change costs you a phone call and a wait. With an as-directed booking, the plan can move during the day and nothing has to be rebooked. A meeting runs forty minutes long and the car is still outside. A lunch gets added. Someone decides to see one more site before the flight. None of that becomes a problem.
Your bags stay in the vehicle. Coats, samples, presentation materials, a carry-on for the evening flight, all of it stays where you left it instead of coming in and out of buildings with you. For a full day across Houston that alone is worth the booking.
And there is one driver. By the third stop he knows where you are going, where the entrance is, and how long the next leg takes. That does not happen with a different car and a different stranger at every stop.
Why Houston makes hourly worth it. In a compact city you could walk between meetings. Houston is not that city. A day with stops downtown, in the Galleria and out in the Energy Corridor is a lot of driving, and the gaps between appointments are where the day gets lost. Downtown parking is slow and expensive, garage exits back up at the wrong moments, and finding a new car for each leg turns a tight schedule into a loose one.
That drive time does not have to be dead time. Every vehicle carries its own Wi-Fi at no charge, so the stretch between the Galleria and the Energy Corridor is where the deck gets finished and the inbox gets cleared, rather than where the day stalls. It matters most for clients flying in: a phone on a foreign network has no US data at the curb, and the car is where they get back online.
Executive roadshows and multi-stop business days. Three or four offices, a lunch, and a flight out at the end. We hold the schedule and adjust it as the day moves.
Clients visiting from out of town. You collect them at IAH or Hobby and the same car carries them all day, including dinner. It reads better than sending them separate cars, and it is easier to run.
Wedding-day standby. The car is on site from getting-ready through to the send-off, rather than three separate bookings that each have to arrive on time.
An evening out. Dinner, a show at the Theater District, a game, drinks afterwards. Nobody parks, nobody drives home, and the car is at the door when you walk out.
Medical appointment days. A morning at the Texas Medical Center often means more than one building and a long wait between. The car waits with you.
How booking works. Tell us the start time, roughly how long you need, and where the day begins. You do not need the full itinerary in advance, and it does not need to be final. Hourly bookings are quoted by the hour with a four-hour minimum, and we confirm the quote before the day so there are no surprises at the end of it.
Three hours is our minimum notice to book, and we take same-day requests whenever we can cover them. For a full day, and particularly for a weekday morning start, earlier is better. Corporate accounts can run standing bookings with a card on file, pre-authorisation before pickup and the final charge on completion.
Questions we get about hourly bookings
What counts as an hour? Time runs from your scheduled pickup to the end of the booking, including the time the car spends waiting for you between stops. That waiting is the point of the service.
Is there a minimum booking length? Yes, four hours. Hourly and as-directed bookings start at four hours, and most of our full business days and wedding-day standbys run considerably longer. If you need less than that, a point-to-point booking is usually the better answer and we will tell you so.
Is there Wi-Fi in the car? Yes, in every vehicle, at no extra charge. It runs for the whole booking rather than a single leg, which is the point on a long as-directed day. It is also the reason passengers arriving from abroad are online before they leave the terminal curb, without a US data plan.
Do I need to give the full schedule when I book? No. Tell us the start time, the rough length and the first stop. The rest can be decided on the day, and changed during it.
Can we go outside Houston during an hourly booking? Yes. As-directed means as directed, including runs out to Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands or Galveston within the booking.
Can the same booking include an airport run? Yes, and that is common. Collect a client at IAH in the morning, keep the car through the day, drop at Hobby in the evening. One booking, one driver.
What if we finish early or run late? Tell the driver. Finishing early is straightforward. Running over is usually fine too, but if it is going to be significant let us know as soon as you can so we can hold the driver for you.
